Carmen participated in Red Shirt Entertainment's play reading series with today's presentation of "Queens of France" by Thornton Wilder. Carmen played Marie Sidonie Cressaux, and was joined by actors Stephen Daldry, Jennifer Le Blanc, & Yoko Hyun. Directed by Brian Hanscom.

Please join us for a fantastic night of theater! We are showcasing the first five proposed projects of the third fabulous season of The Pack! The Pack is a diverse group of theater artists who come together once a month to share work, explore new ideas and collaborate with fellow Pack members. Work that is created in The Pack is further developed through public presentations in The Lounge Series.

The five projects from the 2011-12 season will be presented in a series of 15 minute staged readings. Carmen will be performing in Kari Bentley-Quinn's new play The Unlikely Ascent of Sybil Stevens. Check out Packawallop Productions 'It Gets Better' video entry to ItGetsBetter.org. This came out of last Monday's Trevor Project fundraiser event. Carmen participated in this evening of short plays that explored aspects of bullying and the highly publicized wave of gay teen suicides this past year. Packawallop took clips from the night and interviews with the artists who participated to make a video for ItGetsBetter.org. This is a website that was created to voice support for gay teens and anyone who is being bullied through videos anyone can upload w/their story and/or support. People from all over, including President Obama, have contributed. Carmen was proud to be part of this evening & socially relevant theater.

Carmen will be participating in Packawallop Productions next Lounge series titled: How soon is now? an evening of short plays addressing the issue of violence against LGBTQ teens. For this project Packawallop has partnered with the Trevor Project, an organization whose focus is to prevent LGBTQ teen suicide. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door and all proceeds go to the Trevor Project. http://www.thetrevorproject.org/ Following the reading will be wine & hors douevres reception. She was recently called in for Are we There Yet? on TBS (Todd Thaler Casting), and Body of Proof on ABC (Marci Phillips Casting). On the theater side she was seen for Gee's Bend at The Cincinnati Playhouse (Rich Cole Casting), and Spoon Lake Blues at The Alliance Theater (Harriet Bass Casting).

Carmen just had a great time participating in a Roundtable play reading session at the Lark Play Development Center. She played the role of Nicole Stark in Douglas J. Cohen's Lovely Send Anywhere directed by West Hyler. Roundtables are a session for the writer to hear the play out loud and get ideas for further development based on the insights he or she gleans from hearing the latest draft as well as actor/director/Lark Associate/& invited guest feedback.

Carmen is coming to the end of a great scene study class taught by Katherine Powell, actress, coach, and co-director of Relevant Theater. In it Carmen learned a french accent for work on a scene from Adam Rapp's Red Light Winter, and also did scene work from Arthur Miller's All My Sons. She's looking forward continuing accent work and to starting a new scene class in the Fall.

Three Sisters finishes run at CTH

Carmen just closed Three Sisters by Anton Chekov, a co-production of Classical Theater of Harlem and Harlem Stage. She played the role of Irina and shared the stage with a phenomenal cast including such vets as Earle Hyman, Carmen de Lavallade, Sabrina LeBeouf, Reg E. Cathey, Jonathan Peck and Roger Guenveur Smith.
